Led by Lt. Col. Hugo Cornejo the advance party is now ascending the mountain ridge to the site of San Lorenzo. Rain has turned the tracks into quagmires making it difficult for the men, horses and mules, but conditions are improving as the tracks dry out. However, the rains are early and the going promises to be challenging. The main group led by JBS also started moving up the mountain today, with 15 packhorses and mules on the track cleared by the advanced party.

Team dentist Paul Liddiard from Jersey has already extracted 98 teeth in Mapiri, and the queues are still very long!
