Adventure across the Atlantic Ocean
During this Phase we aim to cross the Atlantic Ocean from West to East by a route around the Cape of Good Hope to the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. We will be using boats based on the traditional designs that Dr Thor Heyerdahl used when he sailed across the Pacific Ocean and from Africa to Barbados. Indications that suggest the possibility of trans-Atlantic trade at that time include language similarity, step pyramids in Mexico and traces of cocaine and nicotine found in mummies from 1200 BC in Egypt.
